What does a dermatologist do?

Advanced dermatology is a field of medicine which is related to the skin, hair and nails of an individual. A dermatologist is a physician who is trained to evaluate and treat adults and children with regard to any disorders in skin, hair or mucous membranes. They are professionals who have the technical knowledge and additional training as well as experience in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, tumors, melanomas and moles on the skin. They have the ability to treat and cure many types of inflammatory skin disorders and they can interpret skin biopsies. They can recognize any infectious skin diseases and have the expertise to carry out surgical techniques on their patients. There have been many advances in advanced dermatology and it has become possible to cure a number of diseases and infections. The field also deals with the cosmetic disorder of the skin and the changes in the skin due to aging. A dermatologist can examine and interpret the tissues in your skin and can identify the problem or infection you are suffering from. If you notice any change in the way your skin looks or feels, you need to head to a dermatologist at the earliest.
